September is for Flat Things!
During the month of September, join Annie on a journey into flat things. During this month-long class, you will learn how to make plates from the ground up. From designing your own shapes, to the tools to make them, we will making every 'flat thing' from tiny soap dishes to all sizes of plates, to platters & huge functional trays (in time for the holidays!). Annie will be teaching all of the crucial steps from the making, through to the glazing & firing of these challenging forms.
Previously recorded 'get ready,' demos will be dropped into class on Labor Day, and Scheduled Classes will be held Tuesdays the 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th at 4pm Pacific Time. As always there will be extra unscheduled demonstrations, following the needs of the clay around tending and finishing the pieces. And, you will have access to all of the videos and content after the live demos - all videos and content will stay in the online classroom.
special supplies -
Wareboards large enough to accommodate your flat things projects
Paperclay for the larger pieces (I use Laguna cone 10 B-mix with grog and paper for my platters and trays)
Jig saw & 1/4" mdf to make your own plate shapers, or you can make them out of clay. Both techniques will be demonstrated.
